My name is Juniperangelica and I use she/her pronouns. I am a student at UC Berkeley, an athlete and I am transgender.
One issue I have faced in my time at UC Berkeley has been the consistent harassment I’ve faced from peers and community members. This is usually based on my presentation of feminine dress. While I’ve talked to many administrators in power, the campus climate is still hostile.
I call on everyone who has the power and safety to push the climate toward a more inclusive and respectful climate. This is through policy, through challenging norms and through speaking up for those who cannot.
