GSA Network has launched Devising Freedom, a national strategy that will create a vision for transgender, gender nonconforming, and nonbinary youth to blossom despite the persistent attacks on their bodies and their identities. This national strategy will intentionally work to combat the harmful effects of anti-trans legislation and executive orders that have emerged across the country.
With the overwhelming amount of anti-trans legislation being proposed and passed, it is more important than ever to equip trans and GNC youth with the tools they need to fight back and make their voices heard. We believe that storytelling is a vital part of that national strategy.
Our Storytelling Workshop will review the current state of trans youth in the media, the need for authentic storytelling, examples of past storytelling projects from youth leaders, the risks and benefits of personal storytelling, and a step-by-step process for crafting an effective story.
