"#mytransbodyis a house of my own design. A place "#mytransbodyis a house of my own design. A place where I can express and store whatever thoughts or feelings I have." -Max (he/him), #NationalTransYouthCouncil member

More about Max: I am a fifteen year old artist and community worker based in Western North Carolina. I joined TRUTH in hopes of expanding my work and to help others nationwide. I am inspired to become an art teacher, for they are the ones who helped me through my darkest times. I truly believe that the world can become a better place if we just work towards it.

Here's some more about Ky: Hi, i’m Ky, i’m 17, and an Aries. I currently live in Ohio and I love to write songs, skate, and draw. I’ve been organizing since I was 11 and joined TRUTH last year to continue my knowledge in that, and to work with others from across the nation that want to fight for the same things and find community in each other :)

"#mytransbodyis… the living proof that I am capa "#mytransbodyis… the living proof that I am capable of anything." -Lakshmi (they/them), #NationalTransYouthCouncil member

Here's a little more about Lakshmi: My name is Lakshmi Garcia and I PROUDLY identify as non-binary and pansexual. I have been out for five years now and am on the constant journey of further discovering the truest version of myself. My journey though has not always been easy. During my sixth grade year, I was outed and began to experience heavy bullying and dealt with eating and mental disorders. By the time I got to seventh, I had cut my hair and began to bind. It wasn’t until my eight grade year where I was able to come out as non-binary to two of my closest teachers as well as start therapy. They saved my life. With them I was able to create the first GSA in the middle schools of my district. This was in response to a substitute teacher receiving hate notes just because of her sexual orientation. As an only semi-out kid, I knew action needed to be taken. Now that I’m in high school, I try to advocate for mental health and our LGBTQ+ community in any way I can. I strive to expand my horizons in regards to the people I know, the stories I’ve heard, and the ways I can grow as an advocate. Coming from a family who’s Hispanic and immigrated here, I’ve gained a unique perspective of some of the global issues many face today. My hope is that through TRUTH and beyond I’m able to help advocate for those around me in any way I can.

Here's some more from Jaxin: My name is Jaxin Edwards Washington and I am a 15 year old sophomore from Owasso, Oklahoma. My pronouns are he/him/his and they/them/theirs. I currently attend youth group meetings at my state’s Equality Center and I am the treasurer for my high school’s Equality Club. "#mytransbodyis not made to cater to the cis stand "#mytransbodyis not made to cater to the cis standard. I will never conform to what cis people or others view as a non-binary person. I will never get top surgery for people's approval of me being trans. I'm getting top surgery for me and me only and if I decide to keep my boobs, that'll be my decision too. I will never cut, tear, or damage my body just to try and get approval from cis people... I am non-binary whether I fit their version of being trans or not. My body is curvy and my body has breasts, but guess what? I'm still not a girl and nobody gets to decide if I “pass” as being trans because my body is not made to cater to the cis standard of being accepted as a trans person." -Cupid (they/them), #NationalTransYouthCouncil member

Here's some more from Cupid: My name is cupid and I go by they/them! I'm currently 18 years old living in good old Florida. I've been a part of GSA’s and LGBT programs for 4 (almost 5) years now, trying to help LGBT young people by teaching LGBT history, organizing events, and just trying to lend a helping hand towards any LGBT kid who may need it. I’m sick of seeing so many young queer kids destroyed by the heteronormativity that society slams down on them. I’m sick of seeing queer people not being able to get the resources they need because of discrimination. I’m sick of young trans people having to hide their identities for so long just so they have a safe place to live. I am so damn sick of society brushing off queer and trans problems and just thinking we’re going to stay silent.

Here's some more for C: I'm C (they/them) and 16. I am a trans kid who cares about their loved ones and their community. I also love reading and skating. I'm doing this work out of necessity, both for my safety and that of my loved ones.

"#mytransbodyis subliminal. It is not meant to be "#mytransbodyis subliminal.
It is not meant to be perceived
It is meant to be received
Meant to be cherished
Meant to be planted in a garden and watered with love
My body is subliminal
It is an otherworldly presence
It carries pictures of my ancestors and tells stories of my own
My body is subliminal.
It is not for you to understand
Its curves and scars are a work of art

My body is irreplaceable."

"#mytransbodyis my body. I don't seek validation f "#mytransbodyis my body. I don't seek validation from anybody. I love my body, regardless of what anyone thinks. I don't need to be cis-passing, I don’t want to be someone’s fetish or fantasy. My body doesn't warrant catcalling or asking invasive questions. #mytransbodyis my body. Screw you if you think it belongs to anyone else."

Thank you for this truth Zee! Here's a little more about them: "My name is Zee/Minowa (they/them), I'm 16 years old and I’m from NYC. I live my everyday life constantly thinking and working on being the best version of myself. I attend an all-girls high school; being the first trans person there has definitely impacted me but I aim to make an impact on my community. I started my own GSA club called “Prisms.” I teach my peers how to help others while simultaneously supporting ourselves. In my community, many people look up to me, but I don't fully understand why. People think it’s brave that I live my life authentically, but that shouldn't be the case just because I’m queer. I just want people to live their life without fear of judgment or harm, and that is why I joined TRUTH."
